About the Study Without Stress: University Edition Online Program
The Study Without Stress: University Edition (SWoS Uni) is a self-help stress management program developed at Macquarie University for undergraduate and postgraduate students. SWoS Uni equips university students with knowledge and practical skills to manage stress associated with coursework and exam periods. The skills taught can also be used to manage stress in other areas of life.
SWoS Uni comprises 7 modules that teach practical Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) skills for stress management. These include skills training in recognising and challenging unhelpful thinking, maintaining a study-life balance, problem solving, relaxation, management of exam anxiety, procrastination and perfectionism. For maximum effectiveness it is recommended that students complete all eight modules, as well as all associated activity tasks.
SWoS Uni can be completed by university students in their own time and on their own device. SWoS Uni is ideal for students already experiencing moderate to high stress levels or students who would like to learn skills to help them manage study stress in the future. This program is an adaptation of the version for secondary school students which has been used in schools for over 15 years and has been associated with reduced stress and increased self-efficacy. More information about the secondary school version is available by the contact details below.
